Some of these advanced models and techniques are built on the foundation of FAST and considered 21 century innovations to help teams with complex processes and projects.

A few of the techniques were innovated evolutions during the 1970s and 1990s and included Classical, Technical, and Customer FAST. Further Function Analysis Models and FAST innovative advancements were developed in the mid to late 90’s and early turn of the century. These include:

  • Function Trees
  • Hybrid FAST

The book also covers Function Cost Models and tributes to both Charles Bytheway and Jerry Kaufman. Charles was the inventor of Function Analysis System Technique and Jerry innovated Classical and Technical FAST as well as other important supporting innovations such as dimensioning the FAST diagram.
